Opportunity in Swahili at The University of Mississippi

The Department of Modern Languages has funding to support someone to do a 2-year master's degree in Modern Languages with a specialization in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), Spanish, French or German while teaching two basic Swahili courses each semester for two years. We can offer a stipend of $5,250 per semester ($10,500 per year), which will be split between the Departments of Modern Languages and African-American Studies. This assistantship will waive both resident and non-resident tuition and will be offered for four semesters with successful academic progression toward the master’s degree. We anticipate courses with about ten students in them per semester in both Swahili 1 and 2.
This is a great opportunity to do a master's degree at UM and to get additional teaching experience in Swahili, while being completely funded to do so. For more information, please contact Dr. Donald L. Dyer, Chair, Department of Modern Languages, The University of Mississippi, University, MS 38677 [mldyer@olemiss.edu].
