William Edward "Bill" Fichtner (born November 27, 1956) is an American actor. He is best known for his roles as Sheriff Tom Underlay on Invasion, as Alexander Mahone on Prison Break and as Ken Rosenberg in the video games Grand Theft Auto Vice City and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

Fichtner also had a small role as the Gotham National Bank manager in the feature film The Dark Knight, and as Jurgen in Equilibrium; both action movies feature Christian Bale.

Personal life

Fichtner was born in East Meadow, New York, and raised in Cheektowaga, New York, where he graduated from Maryvale High School. He is the son of Patricia and William E. Fichtner. He has German ancestry. He has four sisters, one of whom is a Colonel in the US Air Force while his nephew was a member of the band Sleepaway. After graduating from [Farmingdale State College in 1976 with a associate degree in criminal justice, he attended [SUNY Brockport]] and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice in 1978, Fichtner decided to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Fichtner credits his Farmingdale State College admissions counselor, Don Harvey, with his decision to study acting. Harvey, who became a lifelong friend, took Fichtner to his first Broadway show. On 18 May 2008, Fichtner was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters by his alma mater, Farmingdale State College.^{[citation needed]} He is an Anaheim Ducks fan and periodically blogs for NHL.com.

Career

Fichtner began his acting career as "Josh Snyder" in As the World Turns in 1987. Fichtner's film credits include Contact, Heat, Armageddon, Go, Equilibrium, Black Hawk Down, The Perfect Storm, The Longest Yard, Crash, Ultraviolet, and The Dark Knight. Mainly a character actor, one of Fichtner's few leading roles is in Passion of Mind, also starring Demi Moore and Stellan Skarsgard. For his role in Crash he won a Screen Actors Guild Outstanding Performance Award and a "Best Acting Ensemble" Award from Broadcast Film Critics Choice.

Credited as "Bill Fichtner", he lent his voice to the character Ken Rosenberg in the popular video games Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. From 2005-2006, Fichtner also starred in the science fiction drama series Invasion as Sheriff Tom Underlay. After Invasion was cancelled, Fichtner was chosen to play Agent Alexander Mahone in the second, third and fourth seasons (2006-2009) of Prison Break. Later that year, he also presented an award at the National Hockey League award show. He also appears in The West Wing episode, "The Supremes" as Christopher Mulready, a brilliant conservative judge nominated to the Supreme Court.

In June 2009, Fichtner signed on to guest star on Entourage playing TV producer Phil Yagoda, who is trying to remake his hit 1990s teen series.

Early life

O'Keefe was born in Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey, the daughter of Noreen, a homemaker, and Jack O'Keefe, a director of labor relations for Merck. She has Irish, Czech, Austrian, Polish and Swedish ancestry. When she was a child, the youngest of three sisters, she had a bowl haircut and was self-described as a "dork". Her older sister was a model and she decided that she wanted to do the same. She did, and says the modelling job brought her more confidence and more friends. She attended a Catholic school and grew from being the shortest in the class to one of the tallest (at 5 feet 8 inches/1.73 metres), which is the height at which she now stands.

Career

Midway through her junior year high school she left school to star on the soap opera Another World, playing Marguerite “Maggie” Cory. She then got a role on Nash Bridges, playing Cassidy, the daughter of Don Johnson’s title character. She and her mother moved to Hollywood, so Jodi completed her schooling by mail.

She made her big screen debut in 1998 in Halloween H20: 20 Years Later and later starred in such films as The Crow: Salvation, Whatever It Takes and Devil In The Flesh 2. In 1999, she starred in the teen flick, She's All That (1999) alongside Freddie Prinze Jr and Rachael Leigh Cook. When asked if it was hard to play her character, a high school prima donna, she replied, “Everybody knew a Taylor Vaughan in high school. Working in show business, you meet girls like that every day.”

O'Keefe kept on filming both movies and Nash Bridges until the series ended in 2001. Later films have been Out For Blood where she played a vampire named Layla Simmons and Venice Underground. In 2005, she appeared for three episodes in the first season of Boston Legal.

O'Keefe was also in 3 Doors Down's video "Let Me Go", alongside Jesse Metcalfe of Desperate Housewives. She joined the cast of Prison Break in 2007.

She also appeared in episodes of the television series Charmed, The Evidence, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory and Dharma & Greg. She also appeared in an episode of the short-lived 2003 television series Tru Calling. In 2009 she also appeared in Red Alert 3 Uprising as Kelly Weaver

Early life

Born in Fremont, Ohio, Knepper was interested in acting from an early age due to his mother's involvement at a community theater. He was raised in Maumee, Ohio, near Toledo, by his mother and father, who was a veterinarian. Knepper spent many years of his youth working in the community theater and high school productions. After graduating from Maumee High School in 1977, he attended Northwestern University to study drama. During this time, Knepper also obtained professional roles in plays in Chicago. Nearing the completion of his degree, Knepper quit Northwestern and went to New York City, where he continued to work in theater. Although Knepper never intended to work in film and television projects, he began his television and film career in 1986 with The Paper Chase and That's Life!.

Career

Making his feature film debut in Blake Edwards' That's Life, Knepper's additional feature film credits include Woody Allen's Everyone Says I Love You, D.O.A., Renegades, Young Guns II, Gas Food Lodging, Hostage, The Transporter 3, The Day the Earth Stood Still and Good Night and Good Luck.

Knepper has made numerous television guest appearances on series such as Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, La Femme Nikita, New York Undercover, Tour of Duty, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager, ER, L.A. Law, Profiler, South Beach, Murder, She Wrote, CSI: Miami and The West Wing and had a recurring role as radio journalist Tommy Dolan on Carnivale. He starred in the 2007 film adaption of the Hitman game series, and was a main character on Prison Break until the series ended, where he plays "Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell", his biggest role yet.

It was revealed on 3rd June 2009, following the success and final episode of Prison Break, that Knepper would be joining the cast of NBC's Heroes, playing the season 4 villain "Samuel".

Career

Nolasco has guest-starred in various television series such as Arli$$, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and ER. His first role on a feature film was as "Orange Julius" in Universal's 2 Fast 2 Furious. He then went on to co-star opposite Bernie Mac in Mr. 3000.

Nolasco's additional television and film credits include guest-starring roles on George Lopez, CSI: NY and The Benchwarmers. He also appeared on Mind of Mencia as a guest on Sunday, April 29, 2007. He also starred in the movie adaptation of the Transformers, released during the summer of 2007. Director Michael Bay offered him to return to the sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but he declined due to scheduling conflicts. His most high-profile role to date is FOX's hit series Prison Break.

Personal life

Nolasco was born in Puerto Rico to Dominican parents, where his childhood friend was baseball player Jorge Posada. He did not initially intend to be an actor; at the University of Puerto Rico, he studied biology in an effort to become a doctor. After various acting gigs, Nolasco moved to New York City, where he trained at the American British Dramatic Arts School. He has also studied at The Marjorie Ballentine Studio, where he was a classmate of future Prison Break co-star James Hiroyuki Liao. After moving to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career, he worked at the popular club the Conga Room.

Nolasco was a supporter of the presidential campaign of Barack Obama and made a guest appearance in Will.I.Am's music video, "Yes We Can".

He has been romantically linked to former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres. He is now dating Jennifer Morrison, who plays Dr. Allison Cameron in the hit TV series House MD.

Early life

Purcell was born in Merseyside, England and the eldest of five children. He moved to Sydney with his family when he was two, where he was raised by his father, who was British born but of Norwegian and Irish-American ancestry, and Irish mother, Maureen, in the Western Suburbs. Purcell attended Blaxland High School. Purcell's father, who had previously served in the Norwegian Merchant Navy, installed air-conditioning ducts for a living, but later separated from the family. Purcell's paternal grandfather, Haakon, was from Bergen, and his paternal grandmother, Martha, was a New York-born Irish-American according to herself, her family and her birth certificate.^{[citation needed]} His middle name Haakon and his other surname Myrtvedt are both Norwegian.

After quitting his high school education at Blaxland High School, Purcell was employed as a landscaper.

Career

Although he never contemplated being an actor, and thought that "people in the arts - actors, ballet dancers, musicians, whatever - were weird", he decided to try "that acting thing" on impulse. He applied and was accepted to the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) where Purcell studied alongside fellow actors, Hugh Jackman and Frances O'Connor. After graduating in 1996, Purcell obtained his first acting role as Granger Hutton, a leading role in the Australian television series Raw FM.

After relocating to the United States, Purcell debuted on American television as the title character in John Doe in 2002. He got his first big break into mainstream stardom when he played the character of Drake in Blade: Trinity. Purcell's theatre credits include Antony and Cleopatra, Angels in America, Romeo and Juliet and The Pillars of Society.

Purcell currently has a starring role as Lincoln Burrows in the Fox network television drama series, Prison Break. He also guest-starred in a first season episode of House, "Fidelity".

Personal life

In 2000, he won a green card lottery and resided in Los Angeles, California with his wife, Rebecca Williamson (from whom he is now divorced), and their four children: Joseph (b. 1999), Audrey (b. 2001), and twins Lily and Augustus (b. 2003).

On 21 October 2007, Purcell and his wife Rebecca Williamson separated.

In 2006 and 2007 Purcell spent the Christmas period in Louth Village, Co. Louth, in Ireland, the home of his mother which drew considerable attention in the local press. He appeared on the talk show Tubridy Tonight during his stay in 2008; his charisma even made the show's host, Ryan Tubridy, look good, an emmense achievement which must rank among Purcell's most impressive. On December 29, 2007 while driving to Strandhill, Co Sligo on Ireland's Atlantic coast to go surfing, Purcell and his brother Damien were waved down by a lady carrying a choking baby. They saved the child's life by performing CPR until the paramedics arrived. The sixteen month old baby - who made a full recovery - was choking after an onion ring became lodged in his throat.

Early life

Callies moved to Honolulu, Hawaii with her family when she was one. Throughout her youth, she expressed an interest in acting through participating in various school plays at Punahou School.

While her parents are professors at the University of Hawaii, Manoa, Callies did not follow in their footsteps. Instead, she chose to pursue a career in acting. After graduating from high school, she entered Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. In conjunction with her studies, she continued her involvement in theatre. She continued her education at Denver's National Theater Conservatory where she obtained her Master of Fine Arts degree in 2002.

Career

Callies' first role on television was as Kate O'Malley, a recurring role on the short-lived CBS show Queens Supreme. Her first starring role was as Detective Jane Porter on The WB's Tarzan.

After making various guest appearances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Dragnet (2003) and NUMB3RS, Callies gained a starring role on FOX's Prison Break as Sara Tancredi. Her role lasted from 2005 through 2007. According to Prison Break's executive producer Matt Olmstead, although he, the writers, the network and Callies herself all wanted her to stay on the show the character was written out related to contract disputes.^] She stated through a spokesperson to TV Guide in Fall 2007:

"As hard as we all tried, the Prison Break powers that be and I were unable to find a way to meet both the needs of the story and the needs of my family. We parted wishing each other well. I had a wonderful time working with the creative team and have a world of respect for all of them; they took great care of Sara. I'm also enormously grateful to the fans. They've been so gracious and supportive, and I hope they continue to enjoy the show."

However, in March 2008 Olmstead stated that the character of Sara is still alive and would return in Season 4 of Prison Break. Though the character Sara Tancredi appeared to have a violent death Olmstead stated "...we realized that there was actually a way she could still be alive." When asked by Kirstin of E! whether the fans' overwhelming response to her death (namely the STGD Campaign and Save-Sara-Tancredi.org) had factored in, Executive Producer Matt Olmstead admitted it had indeed influenced the decision^].

Callies has also starred in two feature films - Universal Pictures' Whisper and an independent, The Celestine Prophecy.

Personal life

On June 21, 2002, Callies married Josh Winterhalt, whom she met at Dartmouth College. Winterhalt is a martial arts teacher. On January 23, 2007, her publicist announced that the couple were expecting their first child. In July 2007, Callies and her husband welcomed a baby girl, Keala Winterhalt pronounced Kay-AH-lah. She is close friends with Prison Break co-star Wentworth Miller, saying: "I have the great privilege of working opposite someone who is also a great friend. That's something that makes my work easier, it makes my time on set more fun and I think it makes the work better". She was recently voted one of Maxim's "The Hottest Women of Fall TV ´08

Early life

Miller was born in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, England; the son of Roxann, a special education teacher, and Wentworth Earl Miller II, a lawyer and teacher.Miller's father, a Rhodes Scholar, was studying at Oxford at the time of Miller's birth. Miller has stated that his father is of African-American, Jamaican, English, German, and Jewish descent; his mother is of Russian, French, Dutch, Syrian and Lebanese ancestry.^[2][3][4]

Miller attended Midwood High School in Brooklyn, New York, USA. He was a member of SING!, an annual musical production that was started by Midwood. He graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor's degree in English Literature. While at Princeton, he performed with the a cappella group the Princeton Tigertones.

Career

In 1995, he went to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career,He has stated about his rocky road to stardom that "it was a long time in the coming and there were a lot of upsets and a lot of failures and roadblocks, but I couldn’t walk away from it. I needed it like I needed air, it was just something I had to do."

Miller's first starring role was as the sensitive and introverted David in ABC's mini-series Dinotopia. After appearing in a few minor television roles, he moved on to co-star in the 2003 film The Human Stain, playing the younger version of the Anthony Hopkins character, Coleman Silk. He identified strongly with the core dilemma of the movie, being that of a man struggling with his heritage. “My father is black and my mother is white. Therefore, I could answer to either which kind of makes me a racial Lone Ranger, at times, caught between two communities.” Miller worked extensively on the role, not only in researching Anthony Hopkins, but by embarking on a 4 month regime to accurately portray Silk as a boxer. All in all, Miller has extremely fond memories of the experience, quoting from Toni Morrison’s novel BELOVED... “Definitions belonged to the definers - not the defined.”

Miller's first TV appearance was as student-turned-sea monster Gage Petronzi on Buffy the Vampire Slayer ("Go Fish", 1998).

In 2005, Miller was cast as Michael Scofield in Fox Network's television drama Prison Break. He played the role of a caring brother who created an elaborate scheme to help his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) escape death row after being found guilty of a crime he did not commit. His performance in the show earned him a 2005 Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series.^[10]

Miller appeared in two Mariah Carey music videos, "It's Like That" and "We Belong Together" as a party guest. Director Brett Ratner, who directed the pilot episode of Prison Break, was signed on to also direct the two Carey videos. Ratner brought up the idea to Carey about using Miller in the videos. After showing her Miller's picture, she agreed to use him. Since both the videos and the pilot episode of Prison Break were being filmed at the same time, a special set was constructed on the set of the videos, so that Miller would be able to work simultaneously on both projects. Prison Break was an American serial drama television series created by Paul Scheuring, which premiered on the Fox Broadcasting Company on August 29, 2005, concluded on May 15, 2009 and has a movie The Final Break that aired on May 24, 2009. The series revolves around two brothers; one has been sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit, and the other, a genius, devises an elaborate plan to help his brother escape prison. The series is produced by Adelstein-Parouse Productions, in association with Original Television and 20th Century Fox Television. The current executive producers are head writer Scheuring, co-head writer Matt Olmstead, Kevin Hooks, Marty Adelstein, Dawn Parouse, Neal H. Moritz, and Brett Ratner. The series' theme music is composed by Ramin Djawadi, and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2006.

The series was originally turned down by Fox in 2003, which was concerned about the long-term prospects of such a series. Following the popularity of serialized prime time television series Lost and 24, Fox decided to back production in 2004. The first season received generally positive reviews, and performed well in the ratings. The first season was originally planned for a 13-episode run, but was extended to include an extra nine episodes due to its popularity. Prison Break has been nominated for several industry awards, and won the 2006 People's Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama. The first three seasons have been released on DVD, while the first and third seasons have also been released on Blu-ray Disc.
